Proposed Bylaw Changes
In order to update the TASFAA bylaws any proposed changes must be reviewed and voted on by the membership. These updates are intended to better support member engagement and provide additional clarity and flexibility in leadership transitions. The Board is proposing the following key revisions:
1. Committee Leadership Eligibility
We propose updating the bylaws to allow Associate Members to serve as chair of any committee, including both standing and ad hoc committees. This change is intended to expand leadership opportunities and encourage broader participation across our membership. See Article IV, Section 3.
2. Temporary Ineligibility Clause for Leadership Vacancies
We propose adding a provision to address vacancies within the Presidency and the Board of Directors. This revision would establish a 60-day grace period of temporary ineligibility following a vacancy, allowing for appropriate transition, eligibility verification, and continuity in leadership selection processes. See Article III, Section 3 and Article VII, Part 3, Section 3.
