From the Candidate:
For the past eight years, I have had the privilege of serving students and families through my work in financial aid, currently serving as Compliance Director at Texas Woman’s University. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping students navigate the financial aid process and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while maintaining a student-centered approach.
My involvement with TASFAA began six years ago through service on the Fall Conference Committee. During that time, I have had the opportunity to contribute in a variety of roles, including registration, committee leadership, and conference co-chair. These experiences have allowed me to build meaningful relationships with financial aid professionals across Texas while supporting one of TASFAA’s most impactful professional development opportunities. As my service continues to evolve, I am excited to shift my focus toward membership engagement and fostering connections among new and experienced aid professionals alike.
In addition to my professional responsibilities, I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Leadership and Organization with a focus on Higher Education. This academic journey has strengthened my commitment to leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement within our profession.
As a candidate for the TASFAA Board of Directors, I am committed to supporting the organization's mission of professional development, advocacy, and service. I believe that strong professional networks and shared knowledge are essential to helping financial aid professionals succeed and, ultimately, to better serve students throughout Texas. I would be honored to continue giving back to an organization that has played such an important role in my professional growth and to serve the TASFAA membership in a greater leadership capacity.
