TASFAA
Hall of Fame
The TASFAA Hall of Fame is an honorary group of current and or former
financial aid administrators who have served in Texas and who have been
designated by TASFAA as having been exceptional in their dedication
and service to TASFAA and the students of Texas. The purpose of the
Hall of Fame Award is to honor our colleagues so their dedication and
service will not be forgotten. The following Hall of Fame induction
criteria can be used to select an inductee:
- Seniority – An inductee must have worked
in financial aid administration for at least twenty years, a minimum
of fifteen in Texas, for the benefit of Texas students.
- Membership – An inductee must have been
a voting member of TASFAA for at least three years and have served
(an officer or committee member) or any other ad hoc position formally
created by the President of the Board for at least five years. **
- Commitment – An inductee’s energy
must have demonstrated an untiring commitment to encouraging qualified
students to pursue a higher education to assisting them in obtaining
the financial aid they need to achieve this goal.
- Integrity – An inductee’s behavior
must have demonstrated a high standard of excellence when advising
needy families, administering public funds, representing the school
and working with colleagues.
- Practice – An inductee’s actions must
have resulted in lasting improvements in the policies and procedures
of financial aid administration.
**Required for Service to TASFAA category
Procedures for the TASFAA Hall of Fame
- Service to TASFAA – Inductee must currently
be or was affiliated with a school. Must meet membership criteria.
- Friend of TASFAA – Inductee demonstrates
or demonstrated a commitment to TASFAA’s mission in the financial
aid community, but is not from a school.
- Unsung Hero of TASFAA – Recognizes that staff
member that epitomizes what TASFAA and our profession is all about
in their everyday work.
In order to honor those in our financial aid community, The TASFAA
Hall of Fame has expanded its category of candidates for induction.
Please indicate what category you would like your nominee to be considered
in. The procedures for nominations are:
- The sponsor should inform and ask the nominee for permission to
be nominated;
- The sponsor will provide a biography of the nominee;
- The sponsor will provide a letter indicating the category and why
he/she should be considered for this honor;
- The sponsor should request letters of support.
The TASFAA Awards Committee will review submitted nominations along
with supporting documents and make its final recommendations to the
Board of Directors. Only those applications meeting the nomination criteria
will be forwarded to the board for consideration. Nominations and documents
should be sent to:
