C. Adams Professional Development Scholarship The TASFAA scholarship committee has reviewed the application for
the The purpose of the scholarship is to help defray the cost for professional development by individuals who cannot attend financial aid conferences and training seminars because of budgetary constraints. Also, to recognize Mr. Mack C. Adams, who served the financial aid profession for 39 years. Mr. Adams began his career in student financial assistance at Southern Methodist University, serving from 1956 -1971 as the Director of Special Services, which included responsibility as Coordinator of Student Financial Aid. Mr. Adams served as Assistant Commissioner for Student Services for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board from 1971 until his retirement in July of 1995. In this office, he held responsibility for all of the State’s student financial aid and related programs, which numbered about thirty-eight. The deadline for the TASFAA conference application is Friday, August 4, 2006. Thank you to all who submitted a scholarship application for the NAOW training.
