President’s
Resignation To the members of TASFAA, I want to thank you for your support of our organization and for the support of the students of Texas. TASFAA is one of the greatest financial aid organizations in the country and it could not accomplish all that it does without the countless hours of support from its members and associate members. I do not believe that I will ever have the privilege to work with a more dynamic, dedicated and skilled group of professionals in my lifetime. Thank you and continue the great work. As some of you may know, as of February 15, 2005, I am no longer associated with Texas Tech University. Although my association with Tech was short, I developed a great appreciation for the dedicated staff and the University and I wish them well. Since I am no longer associated with an institution of higher education, I am no longer eligible to remain as the TASFAA President and regretfully must submit my resignation. I do not wish to delay any progress in the operation of TASFAA and have not asked for an extension until I could find an association with another institution. I leave TASFAA in the very capable hands of Pat Jost and the members of the Board. Thank you for your support and I deeply regret that circumstances prevent me from remaining your president. My immediate plans are to spend more time with my family and to relocate to the Austin area. I do not plan to leave the financial aid industry and hopefully will see my good friends again soon. Sincerely, James F. Lane |
