position as a Policy Advisor in the Policy and Regulatory Affairs Department

Herring National Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthias
Gomez as the new Bi-lingual Student Loan Administrator.
SouthWest Texas State University (soon to be Texas State University) is pleased
to announce the hiring of Cynthia Burkhart as the new associate director of
Financial Aid. Prior to joining the staff at SWT, Cindy was the associate director
at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. She brings a breadth of experience
to SWT and is looking forward to meeting and working with her new Texas colleagues.
LoanSTAR Systems, Inc. would like to announce the following staff changes:
- Todd Turner has been named Assistant Vice President of
Industry Relations. In his new role, Todd will direct all guarantor relations, and represent
the LoanSTAR companies in industry initiatives. In addition, Todd
will also serve as the lead for all external audits.
- Julie Shiflett has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Loan
Servicing and Customer Services. In her new role, Julie will provide Senior
level oversight of the Account Maintenance, Borrower Services, Client
Services, Default Maintenance and Originations areas. Julie will be in
charge of all
strategic planning, budgeting and procedural review/implementation for
all areas of Loan Servicing and Customer Services.
- Robert Lewis has been named Director/Senior Manager of Systems Operations.
In this role, Bob will maintain oversight of all system programming as
well as programming and maintenance of various ancillary systems.
- Christy Phillips has been promoted to the position of Director of Product &
Business Development. In her new role, Christy will direct the development and
rollout of Servicing products and services. Christy will also call upon prospective
third party servicing clients and work with Marketing and Sales to further develop
relationships with colleges and universities doing business with LoanSTAR.
- Carla Berridge has been named the Director of Quality Control. In her
new
role, Carla will examine all regulatory, statutory and guidance changes
and direct all appropriate system and procedural modifications.
- Kathy Velasquez has been promoted to Senior Manager of
Originations and Client Services. In this role, Kathy will provide direct
oversight of loan
origination as well as Consolidation loan processing. In addition, she
will be responsible for the Client Services Department.
- Jessica Mikolajczak has been promoted to the level of Manager of Default
Maintenance. In this role, Jessica will provide direct oversight of collections,
claims, cures and default aversion activities.
- Mary Teel has been promoted to the level of Manager of Borrower Services.
In this role, Mary will oversee inbound borrower calling activities and
all communication with LoanSTAR borrowers.
- Donna Watson has been promoted to Assistant Manager of Account Maintenance. In this role, Donna provides direct oversight and supervision of Account
Maintenance functions.
- Shannon Graff has been named the Executive Assistant, Servicing Division.
